We practise law in the areas of civil litigation, criminal and administrative matters in British Columbia and the Yukon. We represent clients before administrative bodies such as the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada, Financial Institutions Commission, Real Estate Council of British Columbia and Insurance Council of British Columbia.
In addition to litigation, JJ McIntyre acts as an arbitrator or mediator of complex disputes, often in relation to marine and transportation industries and involving contractual, construction or insurance issues. Nic Weigelt has developed a practice relating to wildlife resource management in British Columbia and the Yukon including preparing share and asset purchase agreements for outfitter operations and leasing agreements for aircraft use.
Outside the practice of law, JJ has been involved in civil liberties issues as a board member of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association and in sports as a coach, referee and board member of a soccer club and sports organizations. He has represented athletes in Olympic team selection disputes and sat on Sports federation disciplinary panels. He is concerned with maintaining fairness in sport through the Canadian Anti-Doping Program as a member of the Anti-Doping Review Panel for the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. He enjoys travelling and kayaking.
Outside the practice of law, Nic is involved in raising three young boys and trying to instill in his city boys the appreciation for hunting, fishing and horses that Nic developed growing up in the Cariboo-Chilcotin. He is bilingual in German and English.
